Fidelity Investments Canada has announced the departure of Cecilia Mo, who was active in the management of several funds, including Fidelity NorthStar Fund and Fidelity Dividend Plus Fund.

“Cecilia has made the personal decision to leave Fidelity and we wish her well,” said Andrew Marchese, Head of Canadian Equities, Fidelity Investments Canada ULC. “While we are always sorry to see people leave, Fidelity devotes a tremendous amount of time and resources to recruiting and training the very best investment management talent.”

Effective today, Daniel Dupont assumes the role of co-portfolio manager of the Fidelity NorthStar Fund, while Don Newman will become lead portfolio manager of the Fidelity Dividend Plus Fund.

“Both Dan and Don are very experienced investment professionals that possess outstanding track records of delivering strong risk-adjusted returns for clients,” said Marchese.

Patrice Quirion will serve as assistant portfolio manager to Dupont on Fidelity NorthStar

“Patrice is a great example of Fidelity’s proven system of recruiting exceptionally talented people and immersing them in our rigorous training and mentoring system. This focus on the long-term development of Fidelity’s professionals has resulted in a very deep bench of talent,” said Marchese.

Dupont currently manages the Fidelity Canadian Large Cap Fund as well as an equity sub-portfolio of the Fidelity Monthly Income Fund and Fidelity Income Allocation Fund. He joined Fidelity in 2001 as a research analyst, and has covered consumer products, food and drug retailers, gold and Canadian banks.

He was named assistant portfolio manager on the Fidelity Dividend Fund in 2007 and began managing an equity sub-portfolio on the Fidelity Monthly Income Fund and Fidelity Income Allocation Fund in 2009.

Newman currently manages an equity sub-portfolio of the Fidelity Dividend Fund and the Fidelity Canadian Asset Allocation Fund. He is also a member of the Fidelity Canadian Asset Allocation Team.

Newman will also take over on the equity sub-portfolios of the Fidelity Monthly Income Fund, Fidelity Dividend Fund and the Fidelity Income Allocation Fund previously managed by Mo
