New additions to Stonegate Private Counsel

A father-son duo has joined the Atlantic Canada office of Toronto-based Stonegate Private Counsel LP.

John Carruthers has been appointed director of client development, joining his son, Patrick Carruthers, who was recently named director of wealth planning at Stonegate’s Halifax office. Both previously worked at Grant Thornton LLP.

The Carrutherses are the second father-son team to join Stonegate and will work alongside Errol Knickle, associate director of investment management, and his son Roger Knickle, managing director.

“Having John and Patrick is an incredible asset to our clients,” Roger Knickle said in a release. “Wealth management and the generational transfer of wealth is a family affair and each generation brings their own knowledge, skills and experience to the table.”

Stonegate, a division of CI Private Counsel LP, has seven office locations across Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia.
