New site offers online access to insurance products

A new Canadian website designed for browsing insurance products announced its launch on Wednesday.

PolicyAdvisor.com says it aims to make it easier and cheaper to search for life insurance, critical illness insurance and mortgage protection.

The website has access to 16 insurance products from large Canadian companies, the firm said in a release, and customers with questions can request to speak with licensed brokers online, by phone or via video chat.

PolicyAdvisor also said it is launching a digital magazine that will cover insurance issues in a “jargon-free tone.”

The service will first be available in Ontario, with the intention of rolling out nationwide over the next few months.
