The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is inviting applications for membership on its investor advisory panel (IAP).

The IAP provides investor perspective on the OSC’s policy and rule-making initiatives. It considers the views of a broad range of investors through consultation with investors and organizations representing investors, says a release.

Panel members are appointed for terms of up to two years and are compensated for their time and effort in meeting the panel’s mandate.

For example, panel members receive $275 per meeting up to a maximum of 12 annual meetings. They receive another $275 per day for meeting preparation or post-meeting work, up to a maximum of three days per meeting. Travel expenses are covered to an estimated maximum of $30,000 per year.

A selection committee consisting of two commissioners and a vice-chair will interview short-listed candidates, says the release. The OSC’s chair will appoint panel members based on the committee’s recommendations.

Applications must be received by Oct. 26.
