Former Gluskin Sheff executive Peter Mann has joined Grayhawk Investment Management as the high-net-worth firm’s co-CEO.

Mann will share the top executive role with Grayhawk founder Michael Kaumeyer. The firm, which serves 30 high-net-worth families from its offices in Calgary and Toronto, plans to scale into a national player after new equity investments from Mann and other new and current shareholders, a release said.

The firm provides customized advice and endowment-style portfolio construction to its wealthy clients. It intends to expand its offering to include family governance and tax and estate planning, the release said.

As executive vice-president and co-chief investment officer at Toronto-based Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc., Mann oversaw roughly half of the firm’s assets, the release from Grayhawk said. Onex Corp. acquired Gluskin Sheff last year.
