Toronto-based fintech Planswell, which provides clients with free financial planning, is making its system available to advisors, the firm said in a release on Thursday.

For the last two years, Planswell has worked with in-house advisors to help clients implement their financial plans, and is now offering its online financial planning platform to independent advisors in Canada.

“A lot of advisors are at home right now, maybe without access to the financial planning software they had before or the ability to meet up with clients in person,” said Eric Arnold, chief executive officer of Planswell. “We opened up a new platform so that advisors across the country can use our system with their clients to build financial plans remotely.”

For a monthly fee, the platform allows advisors to access, make changes and walk clients through financial plans over the phone in real-time.

Planswell can also connect new users who are seeking advice with those who provide advice.

“We are shifting our focus to empower Canadian advisors to implement plans for their existing clients, as well as introducing them to people who are building plans for the first time and looking for assistance,” Arnold said.
