Toronto-based Raymond James Ltd. is adding to its Canadian equity research team, with the appointment of Brad Sturges.

Effective Aug. 17, Sturges will take on the role of managing director, equity research analyst, and will focus on the domestic real estate sector. According to a release, he’s a CFA with 15 years of industry experience who’s worked at both independent and bank-owned dealers — his previous firm was Montreal-based Industrial Alliance Securities Inc.

Sturges said in the release that Raymond James’ reputation and “large and growing Private Client Group and North American platform” were his main reasons for joining the firm.

Daryl Swetlishoff, head of research, said Sturges offers “extensive sell-side research experience” and “strong institutional client and real estate issuer relationships.”
