Scotiabank has entered into a five-year strategic referral agreement with CDSPI, a not-for-profit provider of insurance products, investment products and financial advice to dentists and dental students in Canada, the bank announced Wednesday.

Under the new arrangement, Scotiabank will be the exclusive referral partner of CDSPI for personal and business banking products and services to CDSPI clients.

CDSPI advisors provide advice and financial planning for dentists as a benefit of membership in their dental association.

Through the Scotiabank Healthcare+ Dentist Banking Program, dentists, retired dentists and dental students are eligible for preferred benefits on a variety of personal and business banking products and services that support dentists through their careers. CDSPI will continue to provide insurance, investment and private wealth management advice and solutions to dental association members.

“The Scotiabank Healthcare+Dentist Banking Program supports our mandate to operate in the best interest of dentists, enhances our scale and capabilities, and enriches our client relationships,” said Ed Dermit, president and CEO of CDSPI in a release announcing the deal. Clients will remain “under the CDSPI umbrella of services with a broader suite of end-to-end financial solutions, focused on dental professionals’ needs.”
