Spartan launches Canadian hedge fund

Spartan Fund Management has opened the MMCAP Canadian Fund. It’s a feeder fund for the MMCAP Fund, a Cayman-based fund that uses investment strategies based on corporate events, such as merger arbitrage, convertible arbitrage, warrant arbitrage, capital structure arbitrage, event driven/special situations, private investments and pairs trading in Canada and the U.S.

MMCAP Canadian is denominated in both Canadian and U.S. dollars and is RRSP-eligible.
