Sun Life lowers risk ratings for six funds

Toronto-based Sun Life Global Investments (Canada) Inc. has lowered the risk ratings for six of its investment funds.

The risk rating for the Sun Life Excel China Fund has been lowered from “high” to “medium to high,” and the rating for Sun Life Excel Emerging Markets Fund has been lowered from “medium to high” to “medium.”

The Sun Life MFS Global Value Fund, Sun Life Tactical Equity ETF Portfolio, Sun Life MFS Dividend Income Class and Sun Life Dynamic Equity Income Class have all had their risk ratings lowered from “medium” to “low to medium.”

The new risk ratings are based on methodology mandated by the Canadian Securities Administrators, Sun Life said in a release. The investment objectives and strategies of the funds have not been changed.
