Sun Life names Manjit Singh as CFO

Sun Life Financial Inc. has appointed Manjit Singh executive vice-president and chief financial officer, effective March 29.

Singh brings more than 25 years of experience in finance, strategy, risk and treasury roles to the position. He most recently served as executive vice-president of finance with TD Bank.

In his new role, Singh will lead Sun Life’s finance organization and oversee strategic initiatives, including the implementation of the new IFRS 17 accounting standard.

He will report to Kevin Strain, Sun Life’s president and incoming CEO.

“Manjit is assuming this role during a critical time for our organization and our industry,” Strain said in a release. “He is a strong addition to our executive team and I know that we will benefit greatly from his extensive background and experience in financial services.”
