East West and SW8 manage money for high-net-worth individuals, families and third-party advisors. The East West Canada Fund and the SW8 Strategy Fund will continue to exist as they had previously, and they will continue to be managed independently.

The East West Canada Fund is a portfolio of primarily Canadian large-cap equities constructed using a systematic, rules-based strategy. Prior to founding East West, CEO Richard Phillips was deputy chairman and head of Global Capital Markets at CIBC World Markets.

The SW8 Strategy Fund is a long/short equity fund focused on listed Canadian and U.S. securities. Top-down macro themes and fundamental stock analysis are used to construct a portfolio of equities that look to profit in various market conditions. Prior to founding SW8, Matt Skipp held senior trading positions for RBC Capital Markets in Toronto, Vancouver and London, U.K. and was a managing director and head of trading at Blackmont Capital.
