Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) has haired Gordon Peery who joins the full-service law firm as global derivatives advisor.

As a licensed U.S. lawyer, Gordon will continue to practice law in California where he resides, and will continue to provide legal counsel for his U.S. clients. In addition, as part of BLG’s Derivatives Group, Gordon will work with BLG lawyers to provide support for BLG’s derivatives clients in Canada and around the world.

“The BLG team provides precisely the platform that my global practice needs at a time when the area of derivatives law is subject to comprehensive changes and long-term opportunities for market participants not just in the U.S., but in other leading markets throughout the world,” said Gordon who brings with him a broad range of global experience exclusively devoted to derivatives and futures.

He has negotiated and put into place over 300 International Swaps and Derivatives Association Inc. (ISDA) Master Agreements, Schedules and Credit Support Annexes and his collateral control agreements enabled market participants to recover from the fall of Lehman Brothers in late 2008. His book, The Post-Reform Guide to Derivatives and Futures, was a 2012 International Book Awards winner.
