(March 26, 2008) The IDA has reinstated the registration of Gerald Danny Stefaniuk, who was suspended in an expedited hearing on March 4, 2008.

As a condition of his reinstatement, Stefaniuk will be subject to strict supervision for an indefinite period. His current firm is First Canada Capital Partners Inc. in Vancouver.

Expedited hearings may be held without notice to the respondent and are generally held if the registrant has been charged with any criminal offence that “likely brings the capital markets into disrepute.”

Stefaniuk was indicted in New Jersey on July 23, 2007, for conspiracy to commit securities fraud. The IDA has not yet released its reasons for reinstating Stefaniuk.
