The Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has named the members of its president’s list for the June 2018 sitting of the CFP exam. The list recognizes candidates who achieve the highest exam marks nationally.

President’s list honourees for this round are:

  • Katelyn Culliton from Waterloo, Ont. (first place);
  • Neal Kongkham from London, Ont. (second-place tie); and
  • Blair Evans from Winnipeg, Man. (second-place tie).

These honourees were recognized from a total of 473 candidates who wrote the final, standardized national CFP exam, says a release.

To qualify to write the six-hour CFP exam, candidates must first complete an FPSC-approved core curriculum education program, the FPSC Level 1 exam in financial planning and an FPSC-approved capstone course. Successful candidates with three years of relevant work experience are then eligible to apply for CFP certification.

The three honourees have obtained CFP certification subsequent to being named to the president’s list, says the release.

The next FPSC Level 1 exam takes place on Nov. 29, while the next CFP exam occurs on Nov. 30. staff
