Monique Leroux, the former president of Desjardins and current chair of the Investissement Quebec board, was inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame Thursday.

Leroux, who is also vice-chair of Fiera Holdings Inc., was inducted at a Toronto gala alongside BCE president and CEO George Cope, Porter Airlines president and CEO Robert Deluce, and Goldcorp chair Ian Telfer.

Since 1979, the order has celebrated business leaders each year. Nominees are named by their peers and chosen by an independent committee that represents Canada’s business and academic institutions, a release says. The process is managed by Lee Hecht Harrison Knightsbridge, national partner of the Canadian Business Hall of Fame.
