Gross, who’s served on the panel since 2017, is a lawyer with more than 30 years of experience working on investor protection issues, the OSC said in a release. He currently helps investment firms and regulatory agencies through consulting on strategic reforms, governance and complaint-handling processes. IAP advises and comments on proposed rules, policies and investor protection initiatives, and also consults with investors and organizations that represent them. Gross will replace outgoing chair Letty Dewar, who joined IAP in 2014 and has served as chair since 2017. Louise Tardif is also leaving the panel after a four-year term. IAP currently has seven members and will be issuing a call for new members in September. Gross’s appointment was effective Aug. 1.
