OSC appoints former IIROC director as vice chair

Former IIROC independent director D. Grant Vingoe is now an OSC vice-chair.

Vingoe started his two year term August 12.

He was a partner with international law firms in Toronto and New York, most recently with Norton Rose Fulbright, where he specialized in the regulation of financial institutions and capital market transactions. As well as being a former independent director at IIROC, he was also chair of its Corporate Governance Committee.

“Vice-Chairs serve the most senior advisory role within the Commission and are vital to ensuring we deliver on our mandate,” said Howard Wetston, the OSC’s chair and CEO.

Vingoe graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and received his LL.M. from the New York University School of Law. He has been counsel to the Toronto Stock Exchange. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association Subcommittee on Securities Regulation and the Canadian Centre for Ethics & Corporate Policy.
