ScotiaMocatta, the metals division of Scotiabank, has taken its base metals platform live, with a staff of nine based in London, New York and Hong Kong managing transactions in copper, aluminum, lead, nickel, tin and zinc.

“Our growing client base was asking us to play a more significant role in base metals, and our team of base metals experts is now poised to continue the tradition of delivering exceptional client services – the cornerstone of our business at ScotiaMocatta,” said Barry Wainstein, vice-chairman and deputy head, global capital markets, and global head, foreign exchange and metals.

The London team is headed by Alistair Watson, co-head and managing director, ScotiaMocatta Base Metals. He is supported by David Morgan, Matt Campbell and Soo Teng Lee. The New York team is led by John Ervasti, co-head and managing director, supported by Mike Lagana, Mike Purdy and Mike Carpenter. The Hong Kong office is staffed by Tosh Sato.
