Warren Buffett’s investments and his company Berkshire Hathaway, never fail to make news. But there’s more to how the billionaire accumulated his wealth than you may realize, reports the Financial Post.

For instance, almost all of Buffett’s $63.3 billion fortune was earned after he turned 50. By the way, that’s greater than the combined 2013 GDP of Ghana and Cambodia, says FP.

And Berkshire outperformed the S&P 500 in terms of book value in 43 of the last 44 years, on a five-year average. If that track record seems too long, consider that Buffett made his first trade in 1941.

With such outsized wealth, Buffett has made gargantuan donations too. Over his lifetime, he’s donated $20 billion to charities such as the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.
