Quebec City-based iA Financial Group has named Alain Bergeron executive vice-president and chief investment officer, the firm said on Friday.

Bergeron spent the last six years as senior vice-president at Mackenzie Investments, where he was responsible for $20 billion of multi-asset portfolios and liquid alternatives, an iA release said. He previously worked at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and TD Securities.

Bergeron replaces Michel Tremblay, who retired at the end of May. He’ll assume the role on Sept. 3.
