The Toronto-based Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) has appointed Ralph Vizl as chief strategy officer and head of the FP Canada Institute.

The FPSC is rebranding as FP Canada on April 1. Besides driving the strategic direction of the rebranded organization, Vizl will lead marketing and communications efforts and maintain strategic relationships in the industry, a release said.

As head of the FP Canada Institute, he will develop and deliver products and resources for financial planners and students.

Vizl was vice-president for marketing delivery in Great-West Life Assurance Company of Canada’s individual customer business unit. Previously, he worked at Manulife Financial Corp. and its U.S. division, John Hancock Financial Services.
