Blue Jays to spend more despite drop in Canadian dollar

The Blue Jays will be spending more on their players in 2015, reports Sportsnet.

The team spent US$137 million in 2014, and its management says it will exceed that this year.

The only Canadian team in Major League Baseball, the team has undoubtedly been keeping an eye on the Canadian dollar’s drop in value. The Jays have the option of asking the MLB commissioner for currency equalization payments, says Sportsnet.
