Acquisitions vault Financial Horizons into mutual fund business

Financial Horizons Group, a Kitchener-based MGA, has entered the mutual fund business with its acquisition of Excel Private Wealth.

Financial Horizons Group has also purchased Certika Investments Ltd. as part of its acquisition of the R.G. Packman & Associates group of companies.

“Advisors have been asking us to provide them with a platform for their money business and we are excited to finally offer one to them,” says John Hamilton, president and CEO of Financial Horizons Group.

Hamilton’s firm has also signed a letter of intent to acquire Quebec-based life insurance distributor Groupe CMA.
