Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) named today Randy Reynolds as the 2011 recipient of the Donald J. Johnson Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Profession of Financial Planning in Canada (DJJ Award). Reynolds is the sixth recipient of the award since its inception in 2006.

Reynolds, whose career in the financial services industry spans 45 years, is the president of the Financial Advisors Brokerage (FAB) Group, a Vancouver-based financial planning, insurance and investment firm.

“Randy embodies the spirit of the DJJ Award,” said Jim Kraft, chair, FPSC board of directors. “His service and contribution to the profession of financial planning over the years have made a tremendous difference and helped advance the profession.”

Reynolds will be formally presented with the DJJ Award during Financial Planning Week (Oct. 17-23), at the FPSC-hosted Celebration of the Profession Reception, held at the Old Mill Inn on October 19 in Toronto.

Reynolds has requested that the $10,000 charitable donation that accompanies the DJJ Award be given to the Biscuit Fund of the B.C. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA).

“The caliber of past recipients is exceptional, and I am honoured to become a member of this group,” said Reynolds. “I am also proud to be recognized by FPSC at this sunset stage in my career as a financial planner.
