iShares minimum volatility lineup expanded

BlackRock Asset Management Canada has expanded its minimum volatility product lineup with the introduction of three CAD-Hedged ETFs. The new funds are the:

• iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol USA Index ETF (CAD-Hedged), which has a management fee of 0.30%;
• iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol EAFE Index ETF (CAD-Hedged), which has a management fee of 0.35%; and
• iShares Edge MSCI Min Vol Global Index ETF (CAD-Hedged), which has a management fee of 0.45%.

The funds will help manage the impact of a strengthening Canadian dollar on international investments as well as reduce exposure to volatility. In Q1 2016, says Horizons ETFs, the Canadian ETF industry saw inflows of more than $500 million into minimum volatility funds, surpassing the Q1 2015 record by close to 30%.
