Morgan Stanley worker posted client info online

Some 900 wealthy Morgan Stanley clients had their personal details posted online by an employee trying to sell the information, reports CNN.

CNN cites a source inside the bank that says Morgan Stanley stopped the worker from selling the information.

As part of it’s routine security, the bank scans illicit websites looking for its customers’ information. It spotted the personal details Dec. 27 and had them removed. Then it traced the leak back to an employee who had accessed more than 350,000 customer records—or 10% of the bank’s clients, CNN reports.

The employee has been fired, and authorities are investigating.
