One way officials are doing this is through the New Horizons for Seniors Program. Through the initiative, several organizations based in Ontario will receive funding of as much as $25,000 to run events, groups and classes for senior home residents.

The program also supports projects led or inspired by aging Canadians who want to make a difference in their communities.
