Small businesses should consider emerging markets

Small and medium businesses are crucial to Canada’s economic recovery, says a report from the Certified General Accountants Association of Canada.

In particular, these companies adapt more quickly to global markets, and should be taking greater advantage of opportunities in emerging economies, the report says.

The CGA-Canada report calls for policymakers to address export diversification through domestic policy changes and enhanced resources. The group would like to see greater access to financing and skilled labour, more efficient regulatory processes and a competitive logistics infrastructure.
