Vancouver-based PenderFund Capital Management Ltd. expanded its lineup of actively managed niche investment funds with the launch of two new products on Friday.

The Pender Small/Mid Cap Dividend Fund, managed by Don Walker, invests primarily in Canadian securities, with an emphasis on dividend-paying small- and mid-cap companies. It aims to provide investors with “long-term capital appreciation and a stable quarterly stream of cash distributions,” according to a release.

The Pender Bond Universe Fund invests primarily in investment-grade fixed-income securities with short durations. Managed by Geoff Castle and associate portfolio manager Emily Wheeler, the fund aims to “preserve capital and generate returns through current income and capital appreciation.”
