Vanguard adds to mutual fund lineup

Vanguard Investments Canada Inc. launched two actively managed mutual funds on Monday.

The Vanguard Global Equity Fund seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation by investing in equity securities of companies located anywhere in the world. The fund will be sub-advised by Baillie Gifford Overseas Ltd. and Marathon Asset Management Ltd., and have a maximum management fee of 0.55%.

The Vanguard Global Credit Bond Fund invests primarily in non-government fixed income securities of issuers located around the world. The fund will be sub-advised by The Vanguard Group Inc.’s fixed income group and have a management fee of 0.40%.

The bond fund is the first active fixed-income fund for Vanguard in Canada.

Globally, the Vanguard Group Inc. manages over US$8.1 trillion in assets under management.
