Regulators in British Columbia are accusing a Burnaby woman of violating a lifetime trading ban she received a couple of years ago for her role in a multi-million dollar investment fraud.

The B.C. Securities Commission (BCSC) announced that Enna Keller has been charged with breaching the permanent ban that was imposed on her by the BCSC in 2017.

Following an investigation by the BCSC’s criminal investigations branch, Keller was charged with two counts of “trading in a security and/or acting in a consultative capacity” while prohibited.

The allegations have not been proven.

Keller made her first court appearance on the charges on July 11 in Vancouver Provincial Court. She is slated to return to court on August 7.

The BCSC permanently banned Keller and ordered a $2.24 million penalty against her in 2017, after finding that she breached securities rules by perpetrating a fraud, engaged in unregistered trading and breached cease trade orders in connection with a scheme that raised US$3.2 million from investors, most of which was lost.
