Coinsquare launches tech-focused wealth management biz

Cryptocurrency trading platform Coinsquare has launched a wealth management business focused on AI, blockchain and cryptocurrencies.

Subsidiary Coin Capital Investment Management Inc. is registered with the OSC as an exempt market dealer, investment fund manager and portfolio manager, a release said.

Coincapital CEO Lewis Bateman said in the release that the company is positioned to serve investors’ “strong appetite” for niche technology offerings.

It’s partnering with Deutsche Boerse Group’s index provider STOXX to launch two indexes.

The iSTOXX Developed Markets B.R.AI.N. Index, which tracks global securities focused on biotech, robotics, AI and nanotechnology, went live on July 26.

The STOXX Yewno Developed Markets Blockchain Index, which hasn’t launched, will use AI algorithms to identify companies investing in blockchain technologies, the release said.
