The Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon have joined seven provinces in giving IIROC the power to collect fines through the courts.

The Superintendents of Securities of the three territories issued authorization orders to give IIROC the new enforcement power, which includes “improving IIROC’s ability to improve cooperation with third parties” during disciplinary hearings.

Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Quebec have also given the SRO the same enforcement tools.
