Clever tweets aid brand building

Twitter feeds of big firms can be boring – really boring. Caution is usually the watchword, but some step away from the script from time to time and the move can go viral.

The Financial Times puts a spotlight on a well-known example: Men’s Humor tweets that “If Taco Bell delivered, they would make so much money today.” Taco Bell cleverly fires back: “We’re probably going to make a lot of money today anyway.”

“Tweeting one-liners that sound like they belong in an alternative comedy act is part of these companies’ brand-building effort,” the report explains. Read the rest here.
