CPA teams up with U.S. partner on credentials

CPA Canada and the American Institute of CPAs are teaming up to give chartered professional accountants in both countries access to the same technical resources and advanced credentials, the associations say.

Canadians now have access to practice aids, webcasts, newsletters and online forums through AICPA. Canadians can obtain Certified in Financial Forensics and Certified Information Technology Professional credentials.

“It gives clients across North America a benchmark for top level quality,” says Jeannette Koger, CPA, AICPA vice president for member specialization and credentialing.

In addition to the forensics and technology areas, CPA Canada members can take advantage of AICPA resources in business valuation and personal financial planning. CPA Canada and the AICPA will evaluate the potential for the Accredited in Business Valuation and Personal Financial Specialist credentials in the future.
