Industry veteran Howard Atkinson has been appointed chief business officer of Toronto-based fintech firm Pascal Financial.

In his new role, Atkinson will be responsible for growing Pascal’s business among securities and mutual fund dealers, portfolio managers and financial advisors, according to a release.

Atkinson, the former president of Horizons ETFs Management, brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the role. As chair of 3iQ, he obtained regulatory approval for North America’s first exchange-listed Bitcoin fund.

Atkinson joined Pascal in March as a strategic advisor before being appointed to his current full-time role. He will report to Frances Zomer, CEO of Pascal Financial.

“Our team is built around talented individuals with deep expertise and relationships, and Howard’s incredible vision and leadership will help them accelerate our growth in key markets,” Zomer said.
