Quebec City-based iA Financial Group announced Wednesday that its subsidiary, iA Investment Management, has signed the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI).

“We believe responsible investment is a factor of success and that incorporating environmental, social and governance criteria is the best way to achieve responsible investment,” Michel Tremblay, executive vice‑president and chief investment officer of iA Financial Group, said in a statement. “Creating long-term value relies on a financial system that is both sustainable and economically effective.”

As of last October, the PRI network included more than 2,000 signatories from over 50 countries, representing more than $80 trillion in assets under management, iA Financial said.

More information on the six principles is available here.
